Program Introduction:

Vatva is a urban slum. It is located at the periphery of Ahmedabad city and is predominantly an industrial area. We have been working in this area for 15 years now, and we have witnessed massive changes in the composition and growth of the area. Most residents are working class migrants.

The marginalized people include all the Caste such as Dalit, Tribals such as Adivasis(tribals), Semi-nomadic settled tribes and religious minorities such as Muslim minority including begging groups coming from the lower strata of the Society.This area people haven’t basic amenities like water, food, shelter and sanitation. They don’t have proper knowledge about their basic rights. This people have very little livelihood option and increased poverty day to day. There are variance govern. schemes like National Food Security Act. But people are not aware and Government is not proper implementing this skims also.

We have been working in this area for 15 years now, and we have witnessed massive changes in the composition and growth of the area. Most residents are working class migrants. After the riots of 2002 The massive increase in population and the subsequent pressure on public amenities. As a result, the proportion of child labor in Vatva is increasing at an alarming rate. There is another problem also people haven’t livelihood option for that entrapped prostitution. Child malnutrition rate increased also.

This project would be extremely crucial in supporting and motivating children to remain in nutritional food and people will get them food rights to government, as well as encouraging livelihood option and awareness about Government skims

To empower and enrich the lives of vulnerable and marginalized segments of population, by providing enabling environment, to enable them utilize their potential, create organized and guide recognizable structure.

• Empowered access to NFSA (National Food Security Act) and related government skill monitored by local community leader.
• Directly support nutritious food for vulnerable people during empowering period.

Mostly people are have not aware about food security act because of illiteracy and survival of living for that mostly people are malnutrition.
