Sambodh NGO

Our Story of Empowerment

Driven by a remarkable journey of resilience and compassion, Sambodh has been transforming lives across the Vatva region for over 15 years.

FOUNDER'S STORY

A Journey Born from Resilience and Compassion

Sambodh is a testament to dedication and transformative change. Led by its founder, Fehmida, the journey began with her dedicated work at Saath before she established the organization. Trained as a clinical psychologist, Fehmida found herself drawn to the world of underprivileged education.

A turning point was the 2000 Gujarat riots. Fehmida witnessed firsthand that among the most neglected and vulnerable were the children. This realization ignited her unwavering commitment.

Her fearless resolve extended to underserved places like Vatva, and strategic collaborations with Save the Children and CRY amplified Sambodh’s impact. In 2022, Azim Premji Foundation recognized her commitment, providing vital institutional funding.

Recognizing the importance of education, the Stay in School programme was launched to ensure children in Vatva had the resources and support needed to continue their education despite financial challenges.

Skilling Youth Programme

Responding to community demand, the Skilling Youth programme was launched — enabling young women to break free from traditional norms that restricted them from earning or stepping outside their homes.
